Software Licensing

A software license is an agreement between an individual and the owner of a software program that allows the individual to do certain things that would otherwise be considered copyright infringement.

Typically, the software license will limit where and how often one can install a program, whether one may copy, modify, or redistribute the software, and whether the licensee can look at the underlying source code.
